Application Deadline: 15 October 2009
Notification Date: 11 January 2010

Round Two:
Application Deadline: 14 January 2010
Notification Date: 29 March 2010

Round Three:
Application Deadline: 4 March 2010
Notification Date: 17 May 2010

Northwestern / Kellogg Application Essay Topics for 2009-10

2010 Application Essay Questions for Kellogg School of Management are as below:

Essay #1
MBA Program applicants - Briefly assess your career progress to date. Elaborate on your future career plans and your motivation for pursuing a graduate degree at Kellogg. (600 word limit)

Essay #2
Describe your key leadership experiences and evaluate what leadership areas you hope to develop through your MBA experiences (600 word limit)

Essay #3
Assume you are evaluating your application from the perspective of a student member of the Kellogg Admissions Committee. Why would your peers select you to become a member of the Kellogg community? (600 word limit)

Essay #4
Complete one of the following three questions or statements. (400 word limit)
Re-applicants have the option to answer a question from this grouping, but this is not required.
a) Describe a time when you had to make an unpopular decision.
b) People may be surprised to learn that I….
c) I wish the admissions committee had asked me……

Required essay for re-applicants only
Since your previous application, what steps have you taken to strengthen your candidacy? (400 word limit)

Kellogg Deadlines 2008-2009

Part I of the application: Contains the data form, an interview request and the application fee.
Part II of the application: Contains the remaining materials of a release-of-contact information, transcripts, essays, resume, and two recommendations.

As interviews are a required part of Kellogg's admissions process, the deadlines for Part I are based on an applicant's desired location for an interview.
Part I must be submitted before interview requests can be made.
Part II is due by 11:59pm CDT.

Part I & On-campus Interview Request Submitted by: October 17
On-campus Interview Scheduled and Completed by: December 19
Part II Deadline: October 17
Decision By: January 7

Round 2

Kellogg Essay Questions 2008-2009

Kellogg has posted its essay topics for the 2008-2009 application season. The school now asks that applicants limit their additional two essays to not more than two paragraphs.

Official Kellogg essay topics for 2008-09:

1) Briefly assess your career progress to date. Elaborate on your future career plans and your motivation for pursuing a graduate degree at Kellogg (1-2 pages).

2) Describe how your background, values, academics, activities and/or leadership skills will enhance the experience of other Kellogg students (1-2 pages).

3) Describe your key leadership experiences and evaluate what leadership areas you hope to develop through your MBA experience (1-2 pages).

Choose two of the following three essays:

4) Applicants must answer 2 of the below essays (2 paragraphs per question). (Re-applicants must answer question 4D and 1 other essay).

A) - Describe a time when you had to motivate a reluctant individual or group.

B) - I wish the Admissions Committee had asked me...

C) - What do others admire about you?

D) - For re-applicants only: Since your previous application, what are the steps you've taken to strengthen your candidacy?
